- ➤ The Santa Barbara County Fire Safe Council hosted its Children’s Wildfire Art Contest where local youth explored wildfire with art (featuring fire-adapted plants and animals). - ➤ Santa Barbara Humane introduced Chocolate (a quiet, affectionate three-month-old pup) who is ready for puppy manners class; the nonprofit has launched online dog training classes to ease enrollment and will host Wild West Fest in a few months to support its animal care programs. KEYT

- ➤ Santa Barbara Clean Energy (SBCE) now offers an online tool that lets residents enter their ZIP code and household details to view federal, state, and local rebates for energy efficiency upgrades. - ➤ Biologists counted only two monarch butterflies on Monday at Ellwood East—heavy rains affected their activity and may have knocked them from protected branches. The count is part of an ongoing series, with the next session scheduled for Jan. 30. Noozhawk

- ➤ At a Wednesday court session, Sable Offshore admitted that its onshore pipelines in Santa Barbara have not restarted, triggering a Coastal Development Permit requirement under a new state law.
