  • The Santa Barbara Fiber Arts Guild’s LAYERING exhibition ran at Art & Soul Gallery through today, showcasing work by over 50 artists with live spinning, weaving demos and interactive workshops.   • The Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District welcomes Dan Stefano as its new fire chief. He will begin on Monday, Feb. 2, bringing over 30 years of fire service experience from Costa Mesa and Laguna Beach plus strong local ties (his wife's family has deep roots in Carpinteria and Montecito).  Santa Barbara Independent
  • Isla Vista Community Services District is hiring a Parking Manager to reduce illegal parking by combining outreach + enforcement and enhanced citation measures near restricted spots. Applications must be submitted by February 6.  KEYT
  • Earlier this month, Santa Barbara County Sheriff and First Responder Chiefs met at the One805 Chiefs’ Luncheon to review 2025 outcomes and launch a $10 million mental wellness endowment for first responder services (Prince Harry attended to share his global insights).  Edhat
