- ➤ Last week, the Venice Baroque Orchestra performed at the Lobero Theatre with substitute violinist Rachel Ellen Wong, who learned five demanding scores on short notice. - ➤ On Feb. 24 the Santa Barbara Unified Board approved preliminary layoff notices for 66 positions due to a 9% enrollment drop since 2019-20; about 40 support staff roles are affected and final decisions will be reached by May 15 if conditions do not improve. Edhat
- ➤ Dos Pueblos High School was named a recipient of the 2026 First Amendment Press Freedom Award on Student Press Freedom Day.
