- ➤ Momentum WORK, Inc. will host its 3rd annual “Fun in the Sun” Walk and Roll for Inclusion Awareness event on May 3rd at Chase Palm Park Carousel Plaza in Santa Barbara starting at 9:30 a.m. The event will feature a 1-mile accessible route along the waterfront with food booths and live music — proceeds will support local employment services for people with disabilities. - ➤ The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History has excavated fossilized bones of a small baleen whale estimated to be 13.5 to 16.5 million years old after fossil enthusiast Chris Driesbach discovered the specimen on the Gaviota Coast last February. Museum staff said the unusually complete fossil—extracted from heavy Monterey Formation rock blocks—could represent a new genus or species as state agencies decide its future. More than 400 players will compete in men’s, women’s and mixed doubles divisions and in celebrity matches with Duane Henry, Kenny Loggins and Martin Gore to benefit Unity Shoppe while admission is free on May 2 and May 4 and costs $50 on May 3.
