- ➤ George Burtness will accept the Santa Barbara Foundation’s 82nd Person of the Year award on Wednesday—honoring his thousands of hours of community service including work at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and local organizations. He will be recognized during the luncheon scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort. Noozhawk
- ➤ Primitiva Hernandez (805UndocuFund executive) will be honored at the CAUSE Action Fund 2025 Leadership Awards Reception, which will be held from 2-4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at the Cabrillo Pavilion (1118 E. Cabrillo Blvd.) in Santa Barbara. - ➤ Pioneer Valley High School’s Center Stage Theatre Company will represent California at the International Thespians Festival in Indiana from June 22nd to 27th — they earned the honor after winning first place in the Chapter Select category at the California State Thespian Festival. Noozhawk
- ➤ Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture (SEEAG) has been chosen to receive a grant from the Target Circle Community Giving Program; it will earn points when Target Circle club members select it during purchases. The nonprofit, which helps local students learn about food origins through its Farm Lab program, will see its funds grow as points are accumulated until (June 1). Noozhawk

- ➤ With Earth Day scheduled for tomorrow, the theme 'Our Power, Our Planet' calls for tripling renewable energy use by 2030 while local groups urge stopping repairs to a pipeline that brings oil onshore — they plan to use social media to help voters choose clean energy leaders.
