- ➤ The Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1649 will hold a free Memorial Day ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on May 26th at Santa Barbara Cemetery — 901 Channel Drive to honor military service. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Three teenagers died and two others were badly hurt in a four-car crash on Highway 1 near Rancho San Julian Sunday evening after a 2007 Toyota Yaris crossed into the northbound lane and hit a Tesla Model 3 that struck another car — officials said the road is open — while investigators continue looking into the crash. - ➤ A bicyclist died after being struck on State Street near Pedregosa on Sunday evening—36-year-old Santa Barbara resident Christina Almada was arrested for DUI after emergency responders arrived at 9:37 p.m. and the road was reopened Monday morning—and police continue to investigate. Edhat
- ➤ A federal judge sentenced Orcutt investment advisor Julie Anne Darrah, 52, to 121 months in prison for wire fraud that defrauded elderly clients of about $2.25 million—she pleaded guilty in March and used the stolen funds for personal expenses and luxury purchases. Noozhawk

- ➤ Two free puppet shows by the L.A.-based Bob Baker Marionettes will take place at the Plaza del Mar Band Shell at Pershing Park on Saturday, May 24 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.—organized by PARC Foundation, Santa Barbara Beautiful, and the Parks and Recreation Department—with families encouraged to bring picnic items. - ➤ An exhibit at UCSB Library shows large photos of native bees taken by undergraduates for the NSF Big Bee project and runs through June 30.
