- ➤ On May 29, local nonprofit Friends of State Street and the City of Santa Barbara will launch the free State Street Loop using electric golf carts running from noon to 7 p.m.—this pilot program aims to ease the steep trek near Yanonali Street. On May 30, MTD’s Downtown-Waterfront Shuttle will return with rides every 20 minutes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and fares starting at $0.50 to connect downtown with the waterfront and nearby attractions. - ➤ On May 22, Dream Foundation’s 14th Annual Flower Empower Luncheon raised over $250,000 to support the program that delivers bouquets, cookies, chocolates, and cards to people in need throughout Santa Barbara (honoring donors, volunteers, and flower professionals). The event (held at Rosewood Miramar Beach) also featured a silent auction with more than 100 items that helped sustain the service for 20 years. Noozhawk

- ➤ The Santa Barbara Museum of Art (SBMA) will host the Vian Sora: Outerworlds exhibit from June 22 to Sept. 7, featuring about 20 major works that trace her artistic growth from 2016 to 2023. - ➤ Santa Barbara Wine + Food Festival will take place on Saturday, June 28 beneath the oak woodland along Mission Creek at the Museum, where over 80 local wineries and culinary vendors will offer wines and foods. - ➤ The Air Force released a Draft Environmental Impact Statement that details SpaceX’s plan to boost launches at Vandenberg by adding a second launch site at Space Launch Complex—6, which would raise Falcon missions to up to 100 per year. - ➤ The City of Santa Barbara will launch the State Street Loop—a six-month free pilot program using three electric golf carts with one ADA accessible vehicle running from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday through Sunday on May 29, connecting 11 marked stops from the dolphin fountain at Stearns Wharf to Victoria Street—and the MTD Downtown—Waterfront Shuttle will return on May 30 to operate Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., linking key downtown spots including the Amtrak station, Cabrillo Boulevard, the zoo and the harbor.
