Sixty-five formerly incarcerated individuals will be honored on July 30 at local graduation ceremonies after completing Community Solutions, Inc.’s reentry programs — a fresh start for many.

In Santa Barbara, the event is at noon at Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort; the Santa Maria event is at 5 p.m. at the Radisson.

The Community Environmental Council (CEC) will hold Repair Cafe Santa Barbara at 1219 State St from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 18.

Participants may bring up to two items to repair while volunteer fixers assist and live music with refreshments is provided.

Bombay Station 734 is a new coastal-inspired tandoori grill opening this summer at 734 State Street in downtown Santa Barbara.

The restaurant will serve fresh dosas, coffees, chai, breakfast plates, sandwiches, and crafted cocktails, and locals can join the waitlist to be among the first to enjoy its offerings.

The Brewhouse has added a new coffee bar serving espresso drinks, drip coffee, and pastries during its soft launch (open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.) on the old Woody’s side of the restaurant.

The formal grand opening has not been announced yet.
