- ➤ On August 22, SBCE announced $30,000 in grants to five local nonprofits to strengthen the region’s food system and support culinary education—grant awards include $5,000 for four organizations and $10,000 for Edible Schoolyard. - ➤ Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office arrested three suspects after a retail theft at Ulta Beauty in the Camino Real Marketplace in Goleta+ they recovered about $1,900 in stolen fragrances from a red sedan near the Castillo Street off-ramp. KEYT

- ➤ The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum invites ocean lovers and trivia buffs to join Kelp Forest Trivia Night at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 at Night Lizard Brewing Company on State St.—the event is free and will donate $1 from each pint sold to support the museum while teams compete for marine-themed prizes.
