- ➤ Santa Barbara Rock Gym will permanently close on November 15 due to rising operational costs and a new competing gym — the facility at 322 State Street, which opened in 2012, has updated its operating hours until closing. The gym will be open for members from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and for the public from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekends as it winds down its operations.
