- ➤ On November 7th, CALM at Heart held a record-breaking fundraiser aimed at supporting programs that prevent and treat childhood trauma across the county—325 guests gathered at Rosewood Miramar Beach, and speeches from CALM leaders and a former client helped raise over $550,000 for the cause. - ➤ SpaceX’s Falcon 9 carrying the Sentinel-6B satellite is set to launch today at 9:21 p.m. from Vandenberg Space Force Base to study sea levels if weather permits — nine minutes after liftoff the first-stage booster will return to Landing Zone 4, which may create sonic booms along the Central Coast. - ➤ On Nov 13, Buellton City Council honored Native American Heritage Month by signing a proclamation recognizing the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians - the measure also acknowledged the Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic Behavioral Health Department and the Our Circle of Hope program, which will design flags for Buellton's Avenue of the Flags each November. - ➤ Motorists on Modoc Road face changes as construction enters the second phase of the multi-use path, which has lowered the speed limit to 25 mph and installed new safety barriers and flaggers to help drivers share the road with bicyclists. Construction crews are now working on the south side while the north side will add crosswalks, curbs and sidewalks and replace removed trees (in late winter to early spring) in a project set to finish in 2026.
