- ➤ Santa Barbara Humane reached its 2,000th adoption milestone today when six-week-old calico kitten Rayne Drop was spayed and quickly adopted at the Santa Maria campus—showing strong local support for pet care services. Noozhawk
- ➤ A local farm stand and non-profit are delivering no-cost chemical-free vegetables to help low-income families after a government shut down stranded many people—volunteers using electric bikes continue the deliveries in spite of heavy rains and have increased the reach from 200 to 1,200 recipients. - ➤ The Brazilian Cultural Arts Center of Santa Barbara will host the free Brazilian Day Festival on Sunday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Casa de la Guerra and De La Guerra Plaza. - ➤ Santa Barbara Clean Energy is offering new incentives to help homeowners install energy-efficient heat pump HVAC systems—eligible for up to $3,500 for replacing gas furnaces or water heaters and up to $4,000 for electrical work. The program runs until June 30 or until funds run out. Noozhawk
