About this event
Community Memory Digitization Project - Pick-up Celebration Preserve your memories and celebrate your stories with the Santa Barbara Public Library! Community members who dropped off materials from October 12 through October 17 as part of the Community Memory Digitization Project drop off period are invited to pick up their materials during this celebratory gathering. Participants will be given their original materials and a USB drive containing their digitized files while getting to know other community members at this celebratory cafe-style event! About the Community Memory Digitization Project Preserve your memories and celebrate your stories with the Santa Barbara Public Library! Everyone is invited to take part in this Community Memory Digitization Project, a free opportunity to preserve cherished photographs, artwork, school projects, videos, and music recordings! Community members may drop off their materials at the Eastside Library during two different scheduled drop off periods - one in Summer and one in Fall - each focusing on different media types. All original items will be carefully handled and returned at a cafe style pick-up celebration. At pick up participants will be given their original materials and receive a USB drive containing their digitized files. In Autumn 2026, we focused on the preservation of video and audio recordings. In Summer 2026 we focused on paper-based materials to be scanned. For more information, visit our Community Memory Digitization Project page.
