Santa Barbara County Animal Services is asking the public to foster or adopt about 50 dogs from today until September 30 as two shelters are renovated.

The Lompoc Animal Shelter will run with a capacity of 20 dogs and the Santa Barbara Animal Shelter with 30 dogs—steps that aim to reduce stress and create safer spaces for pets.
